Enough has been said about why children can be irritating, troublesome, bothersome ..in short, a handful. In my home, these adjectives are much more applicable to Yours Truly. Here’s why:
(1) I peer over my eight year old daughter’s shoulder, into the book she is reading, when I braid her hair. My excuse: I miss those boarding school stories!
(2) My four year old son looks in vain for ‘interesting’ things in our shopping basket (it is always ‘in vain’ irrespective of where we shop) My excuse: We need to eat healthy!
(3) I do not concede my lack of taste in clothes and argue with my daughter over the mix n match outfits that she wears. My excuse: I am trying to learn fashion sense through these ‘discussions’.
(4) I am very generous with physical display of affection with my son (read: hugs and kisses) despite his protests My excuse: He is only four!
You don’t need more reasons to feel sorry for my children, do you?
