Fact: Most child abuse happens within the house by people known to the child—extended family, friends, domestic help. These are the people you trust, and who can access your home and child.

 

Myth: Only girls are vulnerable to abuse.

Fact: Boys are equally at risk of child abuse.

 

 

Myth: Abusers are mentally ill and can be identified by their ‘abnormal’ behaviour.

Fact: Abusers are normal people like you and me and lead regular, routine lives
