Change is good!

Like most mothers she knows, Ramya juggles between finding something that satisfies her inner self and doing something that satisfies her family! Mother of two children, a boy and a girl, her parenting philosophy is not so much to be a popular, cool parent as to bring them up with values that she holds dear. When not donning her 'amma' hat, she switches between being 'manager of Digital Learning at IIMB', 'payer of bills', 'cook', 'cleaner' and 'reader of PG Wodehouse and Georgette Heyer.'

Yes, change is good! Especially once you can catch your breath and finish dealing with the chaos that change sometimes brings in its immediate wake…..

Hey Harini – glad you found time to read :) Am shifting back to my old flat within the same apartment complex (albeit a smaller one) ‘coz rents are shooting upwards. Stay in touch.

I totally agree Ramya. Though we find comfort in schedules, timings and plans (and also hope to avoid illness and crankiness), I guess children also need to go with the flow – adapt when they need to and learn to adjust. This is such an important skill for adults as well – adaptability. Having said that, children do find comfort in regularity and routine, and look to us to set boundaries and rules, so, as in anything else, we need to find a good balance between the two!
