Genes or Upbringing – who’s the winner?

Encourage Uniqueness

Every child is different and has his or her own area of expertise. If we want their uniqueness to show out, let them be the way their heart desires. Do not force your interests on them. It is important that every child receives the required freedom to do what they want. Give them the freedom to choose what they like and how they want to live. Help your child to discover things on her own. As they pursue their interests and gifts, their own individual personality will nurture.

Environment Matters

We are influenced by the environment we live in. According to the professor Edith Heard, any environmental influence that can change your gene expression pattern is called epigenetic. Therefore, what you eat and drink, or what you breathe, will actually influence not just you but maybe even your children and grandchildren.Similarly, if you have good genes, it might not last for long if you are practicing bad habits and a bad lifestyle.

Ultimately, the winner is upbringing, as long as it is accompanied by will power. You have to decide what is best for your child and shape their unique personality and override their genes.
