What are the parents’ reactions to Steiner teaching methods?
Initially, parents are enamoured by the pretty, open classrooms that look so homely. In some time, they start getting apprehensive and doubt the efficacy of the methods because they feel that their children are not learning much. But this is only a problem of perception. We hold regular meetings with parents to explain our methods, the child’s progress, what they should expect, etc. and over time, by the time the primary phase is completed, we see that parents are completely reassured and happy with the school and the method. They can see for themselves the kind of individuals their children are developing into – wise and accepting of differences, ready to take their place in the world.
