Modern School Bullying – What Must We Do to Prevent This?

Teach your child that the best way to react to a bully’s taunts is to:

1. Tell an adult
2. Use your words and tell the bully to stop
3. Ignore what a bully says, do not hit back and walk away
4. Avoid the bully
5. Walk towards your friends

If, however, you determine that your child is a bully into stopping this behaviour, the better approach is to go deeper and address the inner causes of their outward actions. Working in partnership with the school, firm consequences for this negative behaviour need to be put in place, but it has to be done in a context of genuine love, understanding and values.
Bullying prevents a child from experience all the positive aspects of a holistic education, and can scar a child irreparably for life. Too many sad incidents around the world demand that we – as parents and educators – take a proactive and deep approach to creating bully-free and flourishing environment for our children – at school and at home.

Beautifully worded post on one of the serious issues plaguing our children, With both parents working and the system of nuclear families is another reason for bullying in kids because I personally feel that these kids need lots of love and attention. Hence the bullying act.
