Yesterday it warmed the cockles of my heart when she thought up a recipe all on her own.
It is not a virtually impossible task. You can help your kids achieve their resolutions.
- Draw up an action plan to achieve the goal.
- Review the last year and see what could be redone.
- Be very clear on why you want to do it.
- It needn’t be just getting rid of some appalling habit. You can learn something new, cultivate a new hobby or resolve to make new friends.
Of course there is only one way to lead, and that is by example. If you do not have a resolution yourself, or even worse, have one and not stick to it, it will be tough convincing them to stick to theirs.
So have a heart and persevere. You will have a new you at the end. Lord Tennyson would understand….
“Ring out, wild bells, to the wild sky,
The flying cloud, the frosty light;
The year is dying in the night;
Ring out, wild bells, and let him die.”
