Great idea Aparna- we never managed to do this as a family when the kids were growing up- what we did try was a common set of values, principles and way of doing things which seems to have worked well ( I am beginning to see the results, now that my children are grown up and one of them is staying by himself.)

Thank you Aparna, I have been setting these goals for ourselves ever since my kids were babies. Some worked and some took longer than I expected. These goals are a sure way of making the kids feel part of it all rather than watching their mom on the opposition battling it out every single day.
I am glad I am on the right path with this one thing
atleast. Will definitly use the goal sheet to organize myself this year.

Thank you for your comments Sudha and Sunandini!
Yes, its about showing them that neither you or they are the enemy here! It’s about teamwork as a family where you share a common set of family values and goals…and through this exercise you prepare them for success in the real world! As Sudha pointed out that once they leave home and are on their own, is when you see the fruits of your labor as a parent!!
    Happy Parenting!!!
