ParentEdge is a bi-monthly magazine for discerning Indian parents who would like to actively contribute to their children’s education, intellectual enrichment and stimulation. The magazine’s premise is that learning is a continuous process, and needs to happen both in and outside of school; thus parents have an important role to play in shaping their children’s interests and intellect.

It has always been a challenge for parents/guardians to teach children the value of money – more so in today’s day and age where they see us withdraw money from ATMs and buy things at the swipe of a card. My children have been particularly influenced by the Kotak Mahindra junior account ad, and I personally am aghast at the concept of letting children have their own account (you may choose to disagree, of course :-)…) at an age when they haven’t rightfully ‘earned’ it.

Having said that, I totally agree with all the other suggestions given here – I have tried some of them and they do work.
